Who Is TAMA?

The Texas Alliance of Manufacturers Associations (TAMA), sponsored by the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC), is a statewide initiative dedicated to strengthening and aligning local manufacturing and industry associations for collaboration, benchmarking, and advocacy. TAMA’s goal is to address the most pressing issues facing small to midsized manufacturers. In Texas, manufacturers with fewer than 100 employees represent 70% of the growing 20,000 manufacturers in the state. Despite being the backbone of the Texas economy, these manufacturers are grossly underrepresented and face unique challenges and needs.

Local manufacturers associations, when present in a community, significantly impact and bring positive attention to this vital sector of our economy. With 57% of graduating high school students in Texas not pursuing either a 2-year or a 4-year degree, the outdated perception of manufacturing as boring, dirty, and repetitive persists but is not accurate and needs to change.  In reality, advanced manufacturing careers in industries such as semiconductors, electric vehicles, aerospace, and other high-tech fields offer rewarding opportunities and career advancement while producing products that enhance our daily lives and support valuable job growth in Texas.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support and amplify the impact of the existing regional Texas manufacturing associations, enhancing their influence within their membership and the broader manufacturing community. TAMA is also committed to fostering the development of new regional manufacturing associations in underserved areas of Texas. We strive to uniting and empower these associations to exchange best practices, advocate for industry and association growth, and cultivate a skilled workforce. Central to our efforts is our dedication to supporting the underrepresented small to mid-sized manufacturers, highlighting their vital contributions to the economic fabric of Texas and ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.

Why Engage With The Texas Alliance Of Manufacturers Associations (TAMA)?

At TAMA, we unite and empower Texas regional manufacturing and industry associations with the ultimate goal of helping small to mid-sized manufacturing companies thrive in Texas and compete across the country and globally. Participating in our Texas alliance provides access to a vibrant community of industry professionals and businesses, fostering meaningful connections and collaborative opportunities. Our participants benefit from extensive combined resources, including community education on the importance of manufacturing, best practices for operational efficiency, and access to targeted workshops, training sessions, trade shows, and webinars on the latest innovations and market insights.

We champion the interests of Texas manufacturing associations at both state and national levels, ensuring your voice is heard where it matters most. Involvement with TAMA provides exclusive insights into economic trends, policy developments, and export opportunities, while connecting you to a growing Texas supply chain network, equipping you with the knowledge to stay ahead.

Join the TAMA effort and be part of our mission to strengthen Texas’s manufacturing sector, develop skilled workforces, and enhance the state economy. Together, we can forge a prosperous future for Texas manufacturing. Get involved today and become part of something bigger!!!
